Westward Ho (16) SU7433



Hi and welcome to my blog I am attempting to cross England, westwards from my home grid square SU9033 in Haslemere. I will also be heading eastwards, northwards and southwards to complete a “bashire” (rhymes with saltire)

These photos show one of the most celebrated grid squares, just below a world heritage site.


Selborne was the home of Gilbert White, a pioneering naturalist. Above we see the famous footpath, The Zig Zag, that he designed with his brother. Below is his house The Wakes, now a museum. And bottom, his last resting place in Selborne Churchyard
